I am going to purchase a new computer with ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and AMD Athlon 2200+, and the usual hard drive, CD/RW, DVD, etc. Is there a preferred motherboard for this setup? Which would be better ASUS or Gigabyte? I heard something about a chipset that supports treating the a single processor as a dual one???? Is this better?? Also, is a 350W power supply sufficient?

Usually you can find out which boards are really good just by looking at the forums. Right now the best motherboard seems to be the Asus A7N8X motherboard. I have this board myself, it runs really well. A lot of people seem to have a problem setting it up but my friends have built a couple of these and there were no problems. It may just be a difficult board to configure.
