crysis patch broken

ok i beat crysis and then learned later that i could have played the whole game with higher fps if i had just patched to the latest version..

i have version 1.0 and want to go to 1.2

i have tried patching directly from 1.0-1.2 and i have tried patching 1.0-1.1-1.2. no matter what i try or what patch im trying (i have downloaded the patch from several different sited thinking it might have been a corrupt patch but all of them dont work) it installs almost completely and then asks me to "please insert the crysis disk", so i do, and it reads the disk, then says "please insert the crysis disk". no matter what i do it wont see that the crysis disk is in. my rig recognizes the disk in "my computer", and the auto run comes up every time i insert the disk so its not a problem with my disk.... i can play the game no prob....


any help?

i know its a very obscure question so i understand if no1 can help....
