According to a recent rumor, Blizzard has kicked Diablo III's development into high gear while putting StarCraft II on the back burner. Will Diablo III arrive before StarCraft II?

Rumor has been debunked already:

Would have been nice if it was true, though.

I must humbly disagree with my good friend trackman and say that it would not be nice as I would prefer SC2 ASAP! lol

Anyway. Diablo III or SC II. Please come fast. Any of them !!!

I never really got into Diablo and while I wouldn't mind trying Diablo III, I'd much rather see SC2 this year than ever see Diablo 3.

That release date isn't accurate; Bestbuy always puts release dates up on their site before games actually have one. At the moment, Starcraft 2 is TBA 2009 unfortunately.

i know its a good thing that they are taking their time, but patience is not a virtue that i or other starcraft fans want to excercise; all ive got to say is it better blow our freaking minds

SC2 is due out on 12/3/08 I believe... or at least sometime in december.
I hate to say it, but I really would'nt expect D3 'till 2010, what with SC2 and WOTLK.

Well here in Canada, it's apparently due either December 23, 2008 or December 27, 2008. Either way I can't wait, I have been waiting for Starcraft 2 ever since 1998.

Looks like an odd release date. I'm sure they'd want to release at least a week before Christmas to pick up all the Christmas sales. If they can't get it done by then, they probably want to wait a short while so they can get more coverage (/hype) in the games press - most magazines shut down over the Christmas break (i.e. the December issue is sent to printers early) and similarly websites won't be adding new content when everyone's on holiday.

My guess is they'll either go for mid-December or mid-January.

Oh good grief guys, this info has been out for a good month or so now - Starcraft 2 won't be done this year. The developers recently said they still have months to go with balancing and things like that, and stated clearly that it will not be out in 2008; heck, they still haven't decided the roles for some units, and the beta will probably last 1-2 months. Let's just hope the beta comes out this year so we have SOME idea of when the game WILL actually come out!

SCII: This is just a prediction but the title will probably be shipping in 2009 (winter season) maybe February-ish. Otherwise, fanboys might be expecting to play the game in early fall of 2009.

DIII: I know some articles have been written about DIII being shipped before SCII but it would not have made any sense. I would have been quite skeptical about it as well...they just announced the title a few months ago. Don`t expect to play DIII before 2010 (maybe Winter if things go very well or early Fall later that year).
