Hey, I am tired of waiting to put this computer together . . I want to get 655 or wait for springdale but i am really tired of waiting. what would be my best bet for a transition board to put in a system for now, then get better mobo in 5 or 6 months? i am getting p4 2.4 533, i think 2700 ram or 3000 maybe. want some stability and extra features for not too much moola. What do you guys suggest? I like asus and gigabyte but am open to suggestions. AND . .will I have to reinstall my OS after I upgrade motherboard in 5 months? Thanks.

Saddly, and most probably (with Windows) ...
When ya change your Mobo - Ya have to reinstall the OS!
(and it should be a clean, new, install)

Rarely, it is possible to change th mobo with reinstalling - but usually only when its a mobo with the same chipset, same device controllers, and such...
I've never been succcessful changing a mobo without a new install...
(With Linux maybe - but no with WinDoze...)

Welcom to the Win World!!!

I'd suggest getting the Gigabyte 8SG667 or 8SG800 now, and some Corsair PC3200.
