Hello. here is my problem. When I open up a game, lets take for example the witcher or crysis, I get horizontal bars on the screen while viewing the ingame videos and ingame. When I look at videos on my comp I dont have this problem. What could be the cause of this and how can I fix it?

My screen is a Viewsonic Vx924 wich was top of the line a few years back and my video card is a Gtx 260. The latest drivers on both are installed.

Are they literary bars that have color and definition to them or are they sort of clear tearing types of lines going across the screen? If the former is the case then your card may be faulty or overheating, if the latter is the case then you are getting screen tearing do to FPS going above your monitors refresh rate and this can be solved by enabling vsync either in game or in your drivers.

Best,
