I have to have the worst luck with this game...

I was almost excited to see if they fixed my first problem with the patch but when it came time to install the patch what did I find?



Patch Error

Old file not found. However, a file of the same was found. No update done since contents differ.




I would hope that there is an easy fix to this that I am not able to see,

any thoughts?

windows vista ultimate 64
pentium xe 3.75ghz
4gb ram
250gb hdd
2 8800gt sli
evga 680i sli mobo


EDIT:

Here is a link to a fix that worked for many people but did NOT work for me and actually made the problem a little worse, but maybe you can get lucky.

I had exactly the same problem and my son-in-law found a problem with the timestamp. He fixed it by doing the following:

copy the Spore/Data folder from the dvd, into the C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\SPORE directory, overwriting everything. Then run the patch.
