Well, I wasn't sure if I was the only one experiencing this problem. When I first tried playing Stalker Clear Sky, I went to hit ESC button to change the settings and it just crashed right to the desktop. So I loaded it back up and got a little further, (ended up dying) I went to hit the space bar (like it tells you to) and it crashed again to the desktop. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this?

patch it up, and keep patching as long as patches keep coming. Remember to quicksave frequently (F5).

All i know is this game is hard!!! Cant imagine how it would be on hard setting?

This game is very buggy. If you need any help, ive got a bunch of script fixes that make the game much more playable, and ends teh game-breaking bugs.

get the 1.5.04 patch and make sure your not using the promo trainer from that stupid site that charges for full trainers, it is very unstable at the moment

for stalker series never buy the game early, I may get it in the next 2-3 months when they have patched it properly as they say your game saves wont work when you patch the game, no point in playing for 6 hours only to have to start all over due to a patch

Like he said, the first STALKER game was great, after about 2-3 patches. I am playing with 1.5.04 patch and it runs pretty well for me. Every once in a while I can't get a certain saved game to load, as it will CTD. Just make sure you have multiple saves.

Agreed. 1.0.5.4 is ALOT more stable than the release. Fixed up some of the memory leaks and corrupted saves etc.
Very rare to get a CTD or a crash to faulty bug screen these days :)

However i have encountered a section in the swamps just north of the Agroprom Research facility which just crashes to desktop as soon as a quest to help some stalkers is activated.

So - ill now wait for a month or 2 until several more patches are out. Then i will enjoy this amazing game in all its fixed and working glory :) Maybe a new OB mod for Clear Sky will be in the works by then :)

Which stupid site? before joining one of them, I found several that charged for full trainers.I joined the one I did because of their Trainer customizer, So im not stuck with a trainer that uses the keys I use to play the game(that alone was worth the cost for a lifetime membership). and both the regular trainer and mega trainer for 1.5.04 work just fine and are completely stable i.e. no CTD's .

On Topic, I got it after 1.5.04 was released, I have no issues with it currently, although it still seems like there may be a memory leak, because after playing for so long, my performance goes to crap, but a quick save and restart fixes it so no huge deal.

gamecopyworld.com has trainers available for most games, however I havent actually had to hunt for a trainer lately though.

 

they have 2 that do not appear to be limited versions
a +8 and +6 by dr.olle and KelSat

I eventually, joined cheathappens because of their trainer customizer...since most use the numpad for the trainer keys...I use it for my game controls

It's not like STALKER games require cheats anyway, it's a bit tough at the very beginning.. I'll give you that, but that's because your armor is crap and you're only given a sorry excuse of a handgun and a useless shotgun. As soon as you get a slightly better suit and a Viper 5 (if you're running low on 9x19 ammo, just go to a mechanic and mod it into 9x18) you should be set for some time.

the +8 trainer from gamecopyworld (the one thats in german language but designed for the international game

the other +8 trainer that has a smaller file size is garbage and will crash the game as soon as you use unlimited ammo

you know you have the good one when you press a hot key, it will say cheat activated
