Hello, what do i need on my toshiba laptop to be able to view my screen on a tv

you need either an hdmi cable or vga to vga cable. it depends on whats on your tv and laptop.

Indeed. Ensure that you get the proper cable. After that, switch to the proper mode on your TV and press fn+f5 on the laptop (whenever everything is hooked up and running) and you should be good to go.
