asus a7n8x 5.1 sound

i cant get my 5.1 sound to work right. if i plug my right and left front in i just hear right sound and static in left, but if i move them to rear outputs they both play. Hows the wires plug in to back of asus board any help would ne nice.

how does this board have 6 channel audio when there is on 1 line in jack on back of board, man im confused
