A7V333-X Microphone Problem

Hey,

I just built a system for a friend with an Asus A7V333-X motherboard. Everything is working fine except his microphone wont work. I tried another mic that he has and it wont work either. I trie the other ports too. I checkeed to see if the mic was muted, and it wasn't. I also downloaded the latest audio drivers from the asus website, but when I went to install them, it just kinda sat there and went nowhere. The system is running WindowsXP Pro, and I installed all the drivers that came with the CD. Any ideas? Please Help!!! I hate building a system and have something not working (especially after I convinced him to let me build one for him).

I think you have to go into your service providers dial up box eg:start, service providers connection box then look for security box then advanced turn off internet firewall protection , that is what i had to do to get my mic working
