Heres the build

Core 2 Quad 9450 @ 2.66 Gigs
4Gb Corsair XMS DDR2-800 Ram
VisionTek Radeon HD 4870X2
Corsair TX750W PSU
Windows Vista Ultimate x64
500GB 7,200RPM HD

Currently while playing Opposing Fronts, I get about 30FPS while running Max Settings. I've tried adjusting for basic 4870X2 issues, such as disabling v-sync, but it remains at that average. I haven't tried major graphics tweaks, but disabling AA apparently does nothing. Every other game I've tried seems to run within the standards of benchmarks/other users, except this one.

I guess the question would be where's the issue? I've had comments on processor speed, but that doesn't seem correct.

Reply to yegglord07

an odd one asproc speed is fine, ram is fine, gfx card is fine, everything is fine.

do you get any changes at all by altering res or settings?

hmmm.....

Do you have the origional CoH, the bonus pack (contains CoH and OF), or just OF?

If its one of the first two, the install order could have been messed up. You should OWN with that setup. Try re-installing the last patch as well.

Does the 4870X2 still use crossfire for the two chips? I think I heard somewhere that COH isn't good with crossfire, but maybe I'm completely wrong. What res are you running at?

I would also like to pose a question. How hot does the 4850, 4870, or 4870X2 get? Maybe it's clocking itself down to prevent overheating?

I have a co-worker with pretty much the same build having the same issue in COH. In fact this post is so similar to what he tells me at work, I'm wondering if you're him. . .

If it is a crossfire problem, it is killing performance. My old 7800 GTX could take Crysis on DX9 without too many problems, so i'd imagine even a single 4870 could crush it...

Reply to gamerk316

doh, forgot to say to disable catalyst A.I which should disable crossfire to check.

however, I can't test it as i am having trouble playing now that they require relic online or some crap like that.

they simply require you to log-in, which shouldn't be an issue if you own the game...

Reply to gamerk316

yes, but log in using what? i don't have an account with relic online AFAIK and i do not know how to register.

thought i would post back to say that i managed to play the game as it was not fully patched, thought it was only need for online play.

anyway, my own game is capped at 60, can't seem to disable v-sync, dips at times to 50 or so. that is with max settings.
