i am having issues connecting to my new DSL provider and it is a firewall
issue. cannot figure out how to get my computer and modem to communicate.
tried to add the ip address to the exceptions and this did not help or i did
it wrong, any advice for a techno newbie on how to fix this would be
apprieceated.

the only details i can think of to add are that my computer is reading the
connection as connected, my programs try to connect for a bit then cannot,
the ISP can communicate with my DSL modem, The techs over the phone have had
me do every kind of ipconfig known to man, and walked me thru so much. they
say it is a firewall issue, but i dont believe that. Everything reads as
working correctly but I still have to Dial up to do anything over the
internet. Any ideas you have would be apprieciated. Thanks
