Ram Istability using 3 dimms

I recently upgraded to 1 gig of ram in my computer using all 3 dimm slots and my system has become slow and unstable. My graphics card has slowed to an intolerable level and 3d mark crashes everytime.
I tried flashing the bios to no evail. Any help...?

System specs
XP 1700+
Soyo Sk7V Dragon Plus
1 gig of ram; 2 x 256 1x 512 Samsung cl 2.5
WB 100 gig 8 meg buffer
2 x 20 Gig Maxtor drives in Raid
AIW 8500DV
Integrated sound


Also, I have run memory testing on all ram modules and they are all fine.

You didn't mention the operating system you're using?

Also Its possible to have RAM pass the memtest, but malfunction in the Windows Environment when paired up, I had that happen myself each module would run by itself with no problems, but pair them up and Bingo Bango Trouble, and guess who manufactured the modules I had, Yep you guessed it, Samsung.

Oops... sorry about that.
Well I have BSD and RedHat running on a smaller drive but i'm experiencing this problem on WinXP.

I think your probably right about the multiple ram modules causing the problem. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately if this is true I will be stuck with an extra DDR ram chip sitting around.
