I have 3 computers, I am planning to do some networking with all of them. I am planning to use dialup for now, and then I will more likely go with DSL or Cable. I went to CompUSA and this :Barricade 4-Port 10/100Mbps Broadband Router SMC7004ABR is on sale right now for $49 after rebate. How good is this. Is this the one that I should go with for the price. And I understand that I will need to have a computer that is connected to the Internet with dialup modem at all time in order for the other to get on line. Will this do the job for what I do. I don't plan to play games over the network, but I may. And I am more likely just to use it for internet and file sharing. If this is not the one, what should I get for around the same price or little higher.

From what I've been led to believe, it's a basic conexant type job.

For your needs, it should be ok.

if you have dsl or cable, you dont need to have a computer hooked up all the time to have internet access, the dsl router will keep the conection alive for you.

how do you shoot the devil in the back? what happens if you miss? -verbal

I have 3 pcs sharing an dsl connection on this router. No problems at all and I use the printer port. Pretty handy.
