Hey guys,

Crysis Warhead is so far so good. Lovin it. I do notice a drastic downgrade in graphics though and its annoying. What it is, is the draw distance seems to be lower and when far away from something or not looking at it, all detail is smoothed over for performance. Screw that I want detail all the time. If I walk 10 feet away from an object it becomes all blurry, smoothed over, and blended together. How can I fix that? Also, a lot of the textures like the wood on the walls, tables, the metal on the Hummers all seems to be a much lower quality detail. I have everything on the highest possible Enthusiast graphics. It shouldn't be doing that. Can this be fix? If not, the game is still rad and I guess I can live with a little less to gain a whole lot more.

Yeah I made a config (help from people off internet though)

and i swear it makes it look ten times better... still foliage doesn't look as good as crysis did

make a new notepad document and then paste this:

con_restricted=0
r_ssao_quality=1
r_TerrainAO_FadeDist=1
e_gsm_lods_num=5
e_shadows_max_texture_size=768
e_view_dist_ratio=80
e_vegetation_min_size=1.5
e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation=48
r_sunshafts=1
e_water_ocean_fft=1
e_detail_materials_view_dist_xy=4096
e_detail_materials_view_dist_z=256
r_UsePOM=1
e_lod_ratio=8
e_terrain_lod_ratio=0.6
e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio=1.7
e_vegetation_static_instancing=1
e_particles_thread=1
e_cull_veg_activation=70
e_max_entity_lights=20
es_MaxPhysDist=300
es_MaxPhysDistInvisible=35
r_BeamsMaxSlices=250
r_DetailDistance=12
sys_budget_videomem = 512
r_TexturesStreaming=0

and then save the notepad into your main crysis warhead directory as:

autoexec.cfg

and then your done... although there is a bug on one of the levels which you can't get past if you have texture streaming enabled... so to get past that you have to disable it... save and then re enable it

Which level without giving too much info away, because I may already be past it? Thank you by the way.

Its the one with the train... its like Hell something... forget exactly

but it makes textures and veg. look much much better than original game... also lighting looks a lot better i think and theres still some texture pop-in but i don't know how to fix that... in the old engine it was easily fixed but now even with texture streaming set to off... it still does it a little bit on the smaller textures

Ahh, man, I am just about to do the train level right now. So I guess I will wait.

Hey Thogrom, read my post about Crysis MOD/map that will blow us away under PC games and let me know.
