When I click Start, then click on Run in order to install any new program
that is on a CD-Rom I notice that every disc or URL has been saved in the Run
box whenever I type the first letter of a command prompt. Is there any way
to erase or delete previous command prompt entries in the Run box?

Hi,

In the registry, you will find them under this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU

This will allow you to selectively remove them by deleting the unwanted
string. Otherwise, you would disable autocomplete or use a "clear documents"
command, which will also remove other entries in addition to this one.

I found the registry through typing "regedt32" in the "Run" box, then located
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU
but could not find the listed entries that are in my "Run" box. Do not see
the same URL's in a string that I can delete. Is there some step I am
missing?

Hi,

You are seeing the effects of autocomplete. That you can disable on the
content tab of Internet Options in the control panel.
