Hi, I went and picked up a copy of FC2 special edition (has a great "crate" like box and bunch of extras) and instaled it. It told me I have to update my drivers to the latest ones. I went in game to try it first, cranked up the settings to ultra high and started playin. It ran pretty good. Then I went and changed the DX version from 9 to 10 (it said DX version will only change after I restart the game) so I quit, went and d/l-ed the latest beta driver (180.43). Nvidia said this is a special optimization for FC2.

Then when I started up the game, the Ubisoft cutscene and the DUNIA video was laggin like hell. took like 3 mins to get to the menu. Game couldn't load. I got pretty frustrated after restarting game then pc a couple times, so I completly re-instaled. Worked fine until I changed to DX 10 and restarted game. Again, lagging video.

I'm running a Core 2 Quad Q 6600 @ 3.2 stable, 2x Nvidia 8800GT 512mb in SLI, Vista 32-bit. The rest of my config in my signature (look below)

Crysis and Warhead + lots of other games run gr8 in DX 10

Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI mobo / 850 watt Gigabyte PSU

Uninstall your driver and move back to old one. Wait until the issue is resolved, or take it back and tell them it doesn't work right so can I exchange this for Fallout 3.

Do 2 things. First try this:

1. Go to Control Panel
2. Uninstall a Program
3. On the left-hand side, Turn Windows features on or off
4. Uncheck Tablet PC Optional Components

It has helped a few ppl, don't ask why. Second turn of AA and see if that helps. A friend turned off AA and it started running smoothly in DX10.

Ehi! I've the same problem!! But may mine is different:
I bought Far Cry 2 (no special edition), then i've installed it on this computer (i've another 1 with ATI x1680). I've installed the Nvidia Drivers (180.42, where the f*** you find 180.43?) and updated DX10, Service Pack 1, i done everything! But when i start the game the ubisoft and dunia logo then menu (i've applied configuration at maximum quality). When i start, it works for only 4-5 minutes then... closes and return to the desktop without any error! Help, please. I've tried all the solutions!

Thanks in before,
xsimonk

Tell ya what if theres any game that needed serious work right out of the box its this one. I thought SPORE was bad but this one takes the cake. Im running a q6600 and two 9800 gx2's quad sli. Ok where to begin. I started the game with dx 9 and played for about 30 minutes then crash to desktop with no error. Ohh it gets better!!!!!! then i enabled dx10 and restarted the game like the message says to. Well wouldnt you kknow it i had no internet now. I had all of sudden no connectivity but the other computers in the house did. Hmmmm started getting frustrated by now so i went ahead and loaded the game with the dx 10 switch and now i had no sound. the game loaded but couldnt hear a thing. Got really frustrated and switched back to dx 9 and restarted game. WOW my internet came back and when i cranked the game back up i had sound again. Ok so now im playing and i get to the church to get my meds and want to take a bus to another location on map and in the middle of loading TADA crash to desktop and the game saved during that bus ride. Well now i go back into game and load that saved game up and of course the game loads the first two pre screens but the third loads extreamly slow and when it finally came around 7 minutes later the game was running like it was doing .000001 FPS. I too me 2 minutes just to do a complete 360 in the game. I gave up and almost sent the disc inflight out my computer room window. Heres my build to see if anyone has same problem with same equipment.

Q6600 water cooled

I donno what game are you talking about. Far Cry 2 or Spore? You have started talking about Spore then you said me: "Me too 2 minutes".. that "me too" want may means "yes, i've the same problem" or not?
And.. if you are talking about Far Cry 2, do you have resolved that bug? Answer or DUNIA Engine will die!
I played Crysis, Crysis Warhead and Far Cry (1) at maximum (yeah, but on resolution: 1280x960). NOW, Crytek is the best for me and Dunia is like the sh*t
I tell you more: i've fixed the bug with the Maximum Screen (no i'm not a Fan of Crysis, sure) then i saw the logos (Dunia's logo is poor! WTF is that? Oh, i know. Dunia born, as my dream). THEN i applied config at maximum (1280x960, 1680x1050 will set all to medium). Just playing, no, just watching for 2-3 minutes then.. the bug you know. SO, i restarted game, setted configuration at High the pushed play. Now, i watched all the intro with the jeep and the idiot drives it) but when "Play Section" was loaded.. bug. Then i change to DX9 then setted config to High, Medium and Low. When i setted to High, i played 2 minutes (so 22 minutes with the intro); when i setted to Medium i played 6 minutes (so about 26 min), when i setted to Low i played 20 minutes (so about 40 minutes). When returned to desktop i finally said: "Oh my God, WTF?"
SO NOW THE ANSWER IS: DO YOU HAVE THE SAME BUG?
I think is our Nivida (yes, i've n9800gx2 quad sli too). Why? There's not another answer, sorry. If i can't play Far Cry 2 my life is lost. ANYBODY WILL REALLY HELP US???? No...

WHAT? I saw your video, my Nvidia is better! Why? It's the same! Mmm, mine is long about 50 cm, how about yours? And mine has the Yoda logo (yes i know he's not Yoda, but he's really similar) and it's green. Donno wtf. How many Mb of Ram has? Mine 1 Gb, may is that the difference.

Hey man i have no clue what your talking about. Your post made no sense what so ever. Im assuming you are not american due to sentence structure. If you read my post in the beggining which obviously you did not it says ( i thought spore was bad but THIS ONE takes the cake ) this thread was about far cry 2 and you have gone off in some other direction. Your wierd man, dont post on a thread if you have no idea what your talking about. And i highly doubt your system is better then mine and whatever this YODA thing is your talking about, more power to ya. Im assuming you asked me in your post if my video card had 1 gb of ram. Its hard for me to tell what your asking or even attempt to make out what your trying to say but if this what you asked then yes my cards have 1 gb of ram each. Does anyone else who reads this thread have a hard time figuring out what this guy is talking about.

I'm running Far Cry 2 on Ultra graphics with DX10 on my ATI Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 and AMD Phenom 9600 2.3GHz Quad Processor (both slightly overclocked) and It hasn't given me a single problem (besides the ocassional split second lag) it actually runs better for me on DX10 then on DX9...

Only problem im still having is it will not work on my logitech headset while running it in dx10. Th sound works fine coming out fo my srround sound but thats not good when you play the game when everyones in bed. But least the game is stable and im able to enjoy it now.

I have a single GX2 running the .43 betas on XP. I only get a little bit of graphical distortions now (an alt-tab clears that up). Maybe...Vista just stinks?
