So I was currious of how well FC2 will perform on my ATI 4870 1gb after being OCed. I downloaded CCC from ATI and was sucessfull in pushing it a bit higher but when I loaded FC2 to see in game performance, the game just crashes and boots back into windows the moment it attempts to load into my last saved game. I've tried to reset the settings but it didn't work. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Firstly, try to pin down the problem to either hardware (the card) or software(the game). Stress with this, default resolution, no AA, Stress Mode. If it holds up for half an hour or more, you can rule out hardware.

hmm.. well I've tried to start a new game and it seems to be ok. I think I can rule out hardware now. I've also tried playing TF2 and well it's been pretty stable so I think it's a glitch in the game although I'm not sure how or why it happened. Sigh... I lost all my progress =( I found like 10 diamonds =((((

TF2 is far less stressful graphically. It's better to stress fully just to make sure.

That's true but Half life 2 engine is good for testing instability. It is said that they are sensitive to OCing.

Download the Crysis demo and bump everything to Very High. That should stress your card enough to see what's what.
