Hello

topic 100 about far cry 2 i guess. But as i promised, i will give you my thinkings about the minimum requirements for the game.

today i received the game, and i've played 4 % of the game.

i'm not gonna say i don't like it, but i'm still looking my way into the game play. i don't see much ;p cars just drive by and shoot on me, but it takes a while when i notice them :p

oke, i play at 1280 resolution, because i can't use anti aliasing and at 1024 the graphics aren't enjoyable.

fps between 20-30.
only textures is set on high, the rest on medium. shaders and shadows on low. hdr is on, bloom is off (at those fps bloom is annoying)

it's playable! so for the guys who have a similar system is me, there is a little bit of hope!

(specs in my signature) below ^^

about the guns, I've understand that you can carry only 1 gun per category.

i did the benchmark thing

this test is on 1280 resolution with no AA and tree medium, fire medium physics low.

low settings : min 17.9 fps, av 28.82, max 44.2
medium settings (optimal they call it): min 14.89, av 21.35 and max 32.12
high settings: min 13.2, av 18.73, max 27.67
ultra settings: min 7.99, av 10.10, max 16.42

than i did a 1024x 768 resolution with 4x AA (same tree, fire and physics)
min 14.25, av 21.86, max 33.20

than i did the same on res 1280
min 11.65, av 17.27, max 28.28

at last i did a 800x600 (no aa) bench, all high!

min 13.33, av 21.25, max 32.79

so, all the people who have a quad or duo core with a 8600GT, may i ask you to post here your benchmark where you in play, so i can see how big my cpu bottleneck is and how strong the 8600GT can be?

thanks
