I have farcry 2 running on my Dell m1530 with a 8600m gt card in it. I have the 180.xx drivers (from Oct 23) running. Every time i start the game I see the far cry logo that pops up, then when the screen tries to black out to start showing the beginning credits, the screen flickers while it tries to size the screen adn then kicks me back out to the desktop.
It "kicks" you back to the desktop? lol. Never happened to me in FarCry2, but a similar thing happened in Crysis (the first one), I tried running in compatibility mode n that fixed it for me.

well one usually starts with the graphics drivers. These are supposed to support far cry 2 - OCt 21st!
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_180.42_beta.html If you are running on these already - i would uninstall graphic drivers and try a previous version - e.g. (from Oct 15th)
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_178.24_whql.html. Actually looking at the list of products the 180 drivers support, yours is not there, so you will definitely have to try earlier versions
He'd have to be using moded drivers for the mobile card, not sure what the latest moded inf from laptopvideo2go.com is but it'd be worth a look.
Compatibility mode "Shouldn't" make a difference as this is a Games for Windows game I beleive? If so it's meant to work on Vista ( I'm assuming thats what your running )
Are you able to play other games alright still?
