Grand Theft Auto clone Saints Row gets a sequel with more gangland violence, crude humor, and sandbox-style action along with customization and multiplayer features. Can Saints Row 2 outdo Grand Theft Auto IV?
Hey, nice review. I've been disheartened by GTAs consistent loss of focus on fun and couldn't bring myself to play through Vice City or the way overrated San Andreas. I bought Vice City and played 2-3 hours of it. I got a copy of San Andreas and due to all the hype pushed myself to play 5-6 hours. It's just not fun. Based on your review and the fun a friend had with the original Saints Row I'm gonna go pick it up. GTA (like Burnout) lost me when they forgot the point of their franchise was fun.
On a technical level GTA IV is vastly superior, but I agree that there were times when it was a chore to play. I'd pick up Saints Row 2, but I'm not really that interested in another sandbox game, and Gears of War 2 comes out today.
