Restore start bar

Hello,
I have just upgraded my desktop computer to windows7. It seemed to work well in the workshop but having set it up at home the start menu had disappeared.

Try Ctrl+ Alt+Del /Processes. Kill explorer.exe process Press Ctrl+Alt+Del Restart explorer.exe as new process. Refresh by pressing F5. If this fixes it nothing needs to be done, but if it fixes it only temporarily you may need to install a new copy of explorer.exe from a good machine

Have you moved or minimized the task bar? Try hitting the Windows key on the keyboard (between the Ctrl and Alt key) this should bring up the start menu and you should be able to see where the task bar is if you then move the mouse to the very edge of the screen then the task bar should appear. Once you have found the task bar right click on it with the mouse and select properties, make sure the auto hide the task bar is unticked.
