how to identify a mobo

hi all,
i know this sounds really bad but i built a comp when i was in school and my mom threw out the box w/drivers and all and i don't remember the mobo type. how in the hell do i figure this out. i didn't see it listed in bios. i've looked all over the board i'm feeling slightly insane at the moment sorry if i'm not making sense. does anyone have any tips?

The model is usually displayed when you bootup and is usually printed on the motherboard.

You can download a utility like Sandra or Wcpuid,they will tell you.
