hey everyone, my sound went out and i dont know how to get it back, all i know is that it happened a day after i got my pc and windows 7 installed which was about 2 - 3 weeks ago. in the bottom right corner the speaker icon has an X through it and says no audio output device is installed. it worked fine the first day, but after that it stopped working. i heard it had to do with the drivers, but if so i cant find which drivers are the ones for my pc.

Try this:

 Go to device manager

click on sound, video and game controllers

right click on your audio codec and select update driver

Click browse my computer for driver software

Click let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

 unclick "Show compatible hardware"

Scroll down and select to install SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec

You should have sound again, re-start computer.
