Hi all,

This is the current spec of my PC

Processor - Intel E6750
2GB DDR2-800
Asustek Nvidia 8600GT DDR3 512MB (EN8600GT)
Motherboard - AsusTek P5K-VM
Display - 1280 x 1024

However, I don't want to spend too much on upgrades. So I am considering either upgrade on CPU or graphics card but definitely not both.

For CPU - Intel E8500
For graphics card - Nvidia 9800GT

So which upgrade I would get the best benefit for gaming?

PS: I only use Windows for gaming, nothing else.

Many thanks in advance
Joe

Obviously the lousy 8600GT is your problem, so replace it. I'd probably spend a little more for an HD 4850, but that's up to you.

Cant see the CPU upgrade giving you that much extra performance. The GFX card is your weak link. What games are you trying to play? Also make sure your psu can take whatever upgrade you choose. I agree with HD 4850.

Thanks a lot. I will get a 9800 GT in this case.

At the moment, I am playing Fallout 3 and Deadspace, going to upgrade for upcoming GTA 4, Left 4 Dead.

Thanks
Joe
