Crysis is the current rig killer for high end machines, and at 1920x1200 or above with 4xaa all settings on very high youd be lucky to beat single digit frame rates with that rig :D

Easily beats a PS3 :D

Oblivion is a GREAT game to compare with a PS3 download Quarls texture pack and darnified UI mods and then compare it with the PS3 version :D  Oblivion also happens to be a first class game with "good" graphics, unlike crysis whish is great graphics and a fair game

In fairness there are titles that look a lot better than Oblivion on both the PS3 and 360. That being said, of course that system is more powerful than the PS3.

From my point of view so far, after reading some other threads, I believe that some PS3 exclusive games may look better than a particular diferent game on a PC. However, multiplatform games available for both systesm will look better on the PC.

Thanks for all the replies.

The only thing you have to watch out for on the PC is lazy 360/PS3 ports. Otherwise, if a game is done pretty well it's very unlikely the 360/PS3 version will look as good or better than the PC version.

CRYSIS is no-match for a 4870..

Depends on settings, its easy to slow down a 4870 to average frames per second in the twenties even with moderate resolutions in Crysis...

Ive got two rigs with 4870's Personally I think the game could do with at least 3x the power of the 4870, in order to run very high 4xaa at 2048x1536 at a decent frame rate.

What the 4870 does do very well with is keeping up minimum frames per second. Far better for keeping up the minimum fps than my old 8800gtx's. But still Crysis CAN make the 4870 cry...
