You guys did a review of the OQO model 1. I was wondering, do they provide some way of installing software? Do you need to use a USB CD-ROM to install anything? If so how could you install the OS? I don't think windows setup would recognise a USB CD-ROM. How about installing Linux or another OS on it?

This device is something I've wanted for years. It's a bit pricy but I'm considering getting one. I didn't see anything in the review or on their website about installing software on it.

That thing is pretty much a standard computer in a VERY small case. Therefor it more than likely can boot off of a usb cdrom.
If it can run a regular copy of windows XP I see no reason why it wouldn't run linux.
