Asus A7N8X DDR 2700

I have recently bought 2 256mb ddr 2700 crucial.(To take advantage of the dual channel) It seems to run ok but when I play games(battlefield 1942, vietcong) it either crashes to my desktop or restarts. Any suggestions??? Flash the Bios???? Help

Download and run memtest for about an hour. You probably have mismatched sticks of DDR unless they are specifically matched to each other. Read some other posts about the details.

I have the A7N8X-DX running 2x 256 PC2700, and XP 2500 barton, the latest bios revision is 1002A (released 2/28/03). make sure you have 1002 (1/30/03). go to asus' support site and download the bios, unzip the .awd file and use the windows asus update program to flash the bios, restart and POOF. new bios. and be sure you have the USB 2.0 driver fix for XP installed.

Not wanting to sound too anal, but just a bit of a correction. It is DDR 333 (PC2700).
