I don't expect anyone else to remember this as fondly as I do but there was a day when I predicted the future and it came true. When this was posted the p4 had just come out and hadn't been tested with sse2 code by Tom's yet.

yeah I remember when the AMDmongrels were attacking your P4 decision and you remained calm and tried to reason with them but they kept attacking, then one day you just lost it! man that was cool! good to see most of them gone from this board.

To me a mongrel/troll/puppie/whatever is someone who sticks by their brand and defends it even when they are not under attack. Nvida lovers can get this way too. Nothing wrong with Nvida, got a couple myself. I bought one ATI AIW for video and you would think I farted in Nvida's face the way some people act. I've got both ATI and nVida and both Intel and AMD stuff and really don't have a loyality to any brand. I buy the best stuff I can to do the job I need done and it never fails the some idiot who doesn't even understand the app jumps on me for making a bad choice.

Never once has anybody with an informed opinion said: "I run both brands myself on the same app you are using and brand x is better then the brand y you bought. Here are some links to back me up". Instead it goes more like "Man that is one bad deal. I don't use my computer for any of the same things you do and my budget is completely different and my reliablity concerns are non-existant and I always overclock to be cool even though nothing I run needs to go any faster and you are an idiot for buying brand y".
