Yesterday my copy of Psychonauts arrived, I know it's a few years old now but this game has been overlooked by a lot of gamers despite the game being praised by professional reviewers. I have to say I was guilty of dismissing this game as some platforming 3D cartoon fit only for consoles initially but I have to say I was wrong overlook it.

I played it non stop for about an hour and half and found, the controls were easy to learn, the characters are funny and concept is fun, if you haven't played this yet I suggest you find yourself a 2nd hand copy on Ebay because its money well spent. It's the best £3 I spent this year, now lets a have a squeal.

Steam is also providing this game although I hardly believe it will be for 3 pounds.

YAY another person who played the game!! I don't know anyone but me who've played the game... :( and that's really sad considering how much of a good game it is! it's funny, very playable, looks good (I just like the cartoonish design:P) and the story is good and progressing well.
There probably won't be a sequel because the company who made the game was bankrupt and I'm not sure whether someone bought it or the license for the game.... and if it was it was something like EA... :((

wikipedia has psychonauts listed as having been released as freeware. it's been up like that for a while, so i was wondering if anyone knew if that's right.

I think I'm one of the few people who was disappointed in Psychonauts. I probably played through 3 or so hours of it, so I didn't just quit after a short period of time, but I felt I couldn't really get into the characters and the controls felt a little loose for me. I did still think it was a decent game, but I think the reason I was disappointed was because I expected it to be on par with Grim Fandango, despite being a platformer, and there's really not anything that could compare. I've never been so sucked into a world and attached to the characters as much in any other game.

I’m currently on the party level trying to get the levitation badge, the game is actually more challenging then first looks but I’m having a good time with it. My only gripes is with the controls, I’m using the 360 control pad as it makes it easier to control the character however the left analogue stick pushes down and acts as another button which pauses the game, this can be annoying. I also have to use a combination of keypad and keyboard to use all the physic powers, this hasn’t proven to be a problem yet but I can see it being a problem in the future, also the camera can be a pain at times.
