3dmark scores

How much of a role does a graphics card make when running 3dmark2001 SE? Because i'm getting half the score of what others are getting online expect they are using a 9700 and I'm using an 8500. I just wanna make sure my hardware is running up to specs.

Select the processor (and optionally the processor speed range). Select ATI 8500/9100 for Graphics Chipset.
