I see many tight reveiws on fps problems and wonder why, years ago when i had a amd 64 4000+, bfg agp 512mb card on source i got around 400 fps mark with setting low and a tweaked cfg. But many want quality and Good fps, yet this is a hard subject for some.

Vsync and tripple buffering works well on most gfx cards synced with youre monitors Hz tho even with any of these items (overclocked cpus, gpus, ppus etc) you will always have that fps drop on vsync it just less noticeable and youre ingame setup with the clamped fps command (remember fps drops 1, so when clamping for like a 60 hz monitor clamp it @ 61 this will then level it to 60.00fps.

No vsync, now even with the best you can find fps boosters/cfgs yes youre game is smooth but i bet youre quality is shockingly sh*te. Even if you dont have anything overclocked/tweaked and you play youre fps will bounce why cause its the delay when info is relaying into the gpu core.

FACT- people change there desktops, themes , colors , quality to get a better more visable and smoother gaming playing etc but what people dont seem to understand is that you're human eye is responsible, why you're proberly thinking , is because when a game lloads and a line of a door for example is'nt staright you're eye will notice it and eventualy for the desktop and other things like movies, this is why people change the above things , so when they load the pc the next day it looks different relaying new infomation into youre brain until once again youre pc quality is sh*te and you need to change again.

Word of advice if you moving from a monitor say 1280x 1024 to a bigger screen (once you get it leave it on the 1280x1024 settings) why cause you eye is used to it and in games you should perform more smoothly.

Anyways if you want a smooth quality layout i would suggest Vsync, fps clamp, and updating youre display drivers. i use tweakforce drivers as they give you excellent gaming smooth'ness, as they are designed by nividia and hijacked by a gaming extremeist and tuned to the cows balls for gaming needs. Also if you looking performance for gaming and you are as serious as i am to gaming and not stupid document programs etc you would, right click desktop select a good res (i use 800x600) and select the windows classic theme, tweak youre system , gpu card and cpu. for extra performance (this ant for framespersecound this is for the cpu to maximise youre games performance.) or even look for a smooth vista shell like (cairo). And for the online gaming for a better fps flow and performance to top off that list i would invest in a killernic card and avoid using youre lan ports bulit onto the mobo. i have the killer M1 and let me tell you that lanning in css with my bro's is a dream not even a silly freeze.

Hopes this helps gamers.

Interesting. Kinda like the "what you don't know can't hurt you" saying. The thing is though, that the type of people that prefer PC gaming over console gaming are the same type of people who will make a point of noticing things like these, and make changes accordingly. It also doesn't help that we're flooded with hi res. media of the latest game releases, so naturally we're going to want our applications to look their best. I suppose we could try to turn that voice off in our heads whenever we install a new graphics card that says "And now for max resolution!"
