I have a old EPOX-3VCA maiboard which is based on 694X. Before some days I changed a celeron2 1.1G CPU. The Cpu can be recongnized by the board easily. But I find that the core volt is 1.86v. I think it is too high for it.
I wanna ask that if this is normal, or it will affect the stability and life span?

and another question, why the system cann't install DMA-66 after I setup the VIA4IN1. it just showed PIO-3(DMA-33).and the AGP 4X was not installed also.

thx.

About the voltages I don't know for sure what it shoudl be for a celeron, but overvolting definitely decreases the life span of a cpu. They flashing your bios, maybe it will give you some more voltage options. For ATA66 prolem what OS are you using? Is it a fresh install? check to make sure any relevant bios settings are set. My old ECS board had a setting in the bios to switch to dma66.

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!
