I just got a new dell with winXP service pak2. I had XP on my last CP, but
for some reason I can't get autocomplete to work. Any help would be
appreciated.

This fix applies to Outlook and other programs that store passwords
in the Protected Storage System Provider sub-branch of the Registry.
It also corrects some issues with Internet Explorer and Autocomplete.

Thanks,This is not a password problem. When I need to enter an email
address, name or address, Autocomplete doesn't work.

Assuming Outlook Express:
Is the information in your Address Book?
In Tools | Options | Send is Automatically complete checked?

PSS (Protected Storage Service) deals with passwords, 'subscriptions' in IE
/and/ AutoComplete, Sharon.

When using sysprep.exe, passwords cannot be saved
<quote>
Since the following functionality also uses Protected Storage Service, they
may not work as expected:
-Password save in Internet Explorer
-AutoComplete in Internet Explorer
-Subscription in Internet Explorer

Give it a whirl.
