It got a pretty good review over on Anandtech and seems to be on the "cutting edge" of M/B's right now. Does anyone use this board...good or bad?

2nd part of the question: This MSI 655Max board comes in two flavors FISR and LS with the first being the "premium" board (and more expensive) that includes RAID, Gigabit LAN, and IEEE 1394 (whatever that is). Are these features needed for the everyday user like myself? They both have SATA, 8X AGP, HT and DDR 400.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/opinions on the board.

You can probably just go for the regular version. IEEE 1394 is the firewire port you can use to hook up external burners, external hard drives and you dv camcorder.
