i am upgrading my system and i'd like to know if i'm making the right choices here.

AMD Athlon XP 2200+, 266Mhz, SocketA
AsusA7N8X,SockA,nForce2,3xDDR,Audio,USB2.0,LAN
Western Digital 80.0Gb, 7200rpm, ATA100, 8Mb cache or
Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9, 80Gb, 7200rpm 8Mb cache
Kingston Dimm 256Mb DDR SDram PC2700 333Mhz >>2X
Q-Tec 400W Dual Fan Gold

i'm not sure which hd to take.. they're both about the same price with 3 yrs warranty. any suggestions, thoughts or experiences are welcome.

THANKS!

Western digital I think is better go for that. I would consider getting a 2400+ since it's currenlty in the sweet spot (ie most Mhz per $). Kingston ram should be fine unless you want performance... then you should look atleast at crucial.. or at the extreem corsair... otherwise... sweet system... graphics??

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!

A recent review by www.storagereview.com shows that the WD has a slightly faster access and transfer speed as well as more quiet than the Maxtor. Personally, I would go for the WD too.
