when i try to use fsx with vista premium 64bit my comp ''reverts back to vista basic color skeme'' graphics are horrible no matter what i set them to any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, ''system specs'' gigabyte ep45-ud3p mobo--radeon4870 1gb--vista premium 64,, please help this is a brand new home built system so maybe i have a setting wrong on the gpu

Reverting back to basic color scheme is normal for that game. As for the bad graphics go to settings and put everything on ultra high and change the resolution to your monitor's native resolution. Run the game to see how it performs, if its laggy then lower the settings. Your video card is enough to run the game maxed out, but the game is highly dependent on cpu speed so you would need fast cpu.

One thing I have noticed is that if your graphics are blurry be sure to not only make sureall graphic sliders are far right but ALSO that antiscoptic filtering is on. I had these problems with my creating photo real for KSPG but Adam at Abacus Publishing gave me this advise.

IF you run both FSX & FS9 and you encounter a black screen or whatever be sure to run full-screen mode. Full screen mode will also about double your frame rates. (alt + enter).
