What do you say to convince your brainwashed Mac fanboy friends...

that PCs can outperform Macs at any price point?

i tell him there are so many more games on PC and he's like "i don't care i just play games on consoles anyway macs are better for other applications." and then he says "if PCs are better then why do all the movie companies like Pixar use Macs?"

first of all i don't even know this is true. for all i know Pixar and Industrial Light and Magic might use Linux PCs or Windows XP or who knows.

the point is average home consumers aren't movie studios... i know my friend is an idiot, i'm just too much of an idiot myself to explain to him that he's an idiot.

please help me explain to my friend why he's an idiot.

thanks,

Marsh

If you can convince Chickadee, you can convince any mac user.

you can install the mac os on a windows based pc

also a cool thing you can try. pick any mac, then using parts from newegg build a pc with the same specs

you will see that the macs will generally be $500-$1000 more expensive

and that shows that your getting ripped off by a insane around because apple doesn't even buy their parts retail, they get it from a factory for like less than half the price

Macs have always been PCs. PC stands for personal computer.

I once tried to argue the above point with advertsising standards as one of the many reasons their ad's should be banned, but they said that that is not the case, sorry, the experts they consulted said that.

They were removed due to stuff mentioning virus's or supposed lack of but still, you get the point.

Simple point, people who can, do. Everyone else get's a mac. Or a macintosh as us old fuddy duddies like to call them. Christ i remember you used to get the IBM compatible and mac specs on pc game boxes, shoot me now.

Love the iPhone ad tbh, if you are really quick you can see the disclaimer about the download speed pop up for half a sec or so. They even had to be dragged through the courts just to put that on.

u can't because there sometimes(most times) uneducated about computers they can't see the hardware apple sell is a rip off and they like how easy it is to access iTunes and iMovie becuase they don't have to press start instead the menu is on the bottom ooooooooooh

Macs hurt me. My girlfriend got a mac when we went to college because she's a graphical design major and they say get a mac. I installed Windows XP on it a couple weeks in, and it hasn't booted OS X since then, over 3 years ago.

Yea most graphical designers use Macs (i talk to a lot of them in my job!), its down to the superiorority of the apps available or somesuch twoddle. I'm sure if they really tried they could do whatever it is they do on a PC.
