Just bought the A7N8X deluxe mother board, with Athlon 2600 ( 333hz), )2x 256 DDR400 3200 Ram. Loaded it into my case with a brand new IBM 180 GXP 120GB hard disk. PSU is 270 watts.
The thing runs like a dog, I have spent a week trying to load up Windows XP , Loaded up XP on HD on another Athlon machine , no problems.
Put it into the new MB / case , just reboots everytime it gets as far as the start up screen
Reloaded XP , Taking approx 6 hrs to load OS.
What is wrong with it, all settings at default
Any advice, any help

Video Card is Matrox Marvel G400 and I know that I need to upgrade it ASAP

First, check your RAM's settings. I used to have problem when installed XP (it took very long just to format HD) with too fast timing on RAM (Samsung PC2700) with Abit KX7-333R.
Second, I think your Power supply (270W!) might be overloaded. Try one with 300W or up to see.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

also check the temps on the cpu, it may be overheating and turning itself off when it hits something it has to load. IMHO, it's probably the PSU though...

"What kind of idiot are you?"
"I don't know, what kinds are there?"
