Real reason for lack of pc game sales

I had to laugh that maker like ubisoft and other software producers thought that it was all due to piracy and i thought to myself i use to buy ALOT of pc games myself what has changed?.

Online gaming since the advent of online gaming my spending habits changed so instead of buying 4 pc games a month now its 1 pc game every 8 months because i play WoW now most people i know are the same they play some form of online game and don't buy any pc games if at all.

What is an online game well 99% of them are fantasy based rpg's yet the number of fantasy based rpg's released are VERY small part of the pc software line-up and when a good one does show up it sells ALOT.

Fps too many released i got sick of them after quake 2 i don't play them at all they all are the same maybe if there was more rpg's they would make more money instead of releasing 20 fps titles a year.
