I currently purchased an ASUS A7V8X motherboard which touts a 333 FSB. I purchased an AthlonXP 2200+ to go with it, and 512mb of Kingmax DDR400 RAM.

When I ran PCMark2002 it is indicating that my FSB is only performing at 133. I know that since i bought 2x256 memory sticks it lowers the FSB to 266, but I am not even getting that! Does anyone know how i can boost my FSB to the proper level? Also my processor is performing slightly lower than 1800mhz and displaying as "Missing CPU, 1760mhz" while I am sure that it should display as AMD. Is this related?

Any help would be appreciated. You can view my full system stats here:

Thanks in advance.

First off, it is not your memory lowering your fsb to 266, it is your cpu. 2200's run on 266 fsb.

Secondly, yuor fsb is fine, you need to remember you are on a ddr system, meaning double data rate. So 133 X 2 = 266.

Problem solved. :)

Ya... no probs there... you don't like it you will have to overclock... so strap on a cooler and hold on tight ;)

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!

Okay, well that makes sense -- however -- how does that explain the poor performance based on comparative systems?

that could be based on any number of factors - ram timings, hard drive latency, hard drive buffer sizes etc etc How much exactly are you lagging behind other comparable systems?
