There is an old game I used to play for hours. It was on either 95 or 98 and it was placed in and a futuristic world in some alternate universe. You had both guns and magic available for use and it was definitely an FPS. anybody have an idea what this might have been? If you can think of anything else that might be useful in finding it that I didn't include just leave a comment and I will add more.
Sounds familiar almost something like bioshock. Deus Ex: Invisible War or maybe system shock. Nah Deus Ex: Invisible War was made in 2003. System shock is a older game though maybe thats it.

Well, it will help if you tell us what year you playing the game, which will rule out any later releases.
I suspect that the game you are thinking of may have been fps in that it was a first-person perspective game, but it was probably an early RPG game, due to your mention of magic.
Here is a list of early fps and fps/rpg, in the vain hope that something jogs your memory...
Dark Forces (Lucasarts, some 'magic' through jedi powers I think)
Quake (the original)
Unreal Tournament (well, the weapons were pretty *magic* Ultima Underworld (first-person RPG)
Deus Ex (the original, FPS, some nano-tech magic stuff)
Elder Scrolls IIaggerfall or Elder Scrolls III:Morrowind ?
Ok, I cant quite remember the year, but it was not an RPG (no stats, just kill stuff). it was definitely not Dark Forces, although I loved that game. I played it around the same as Dark Forces also, maybe even a little before.
Have a browse through this website see if anything rings a bell.
Its not a definitive list, webby catagorises it all as abandonware so there will be some big studio ommisions...seems the title you are after may be one of the more obscure offerings though.
1995 was the release year for Dark Forces. Just change the url to 1996 etc if nothing pops up.
Oh and a complete stab in the dark...alternate reality always makes me think of Flashback, and the sequel Fade to Black (2 of my fave old time games) No magic though, and Flashback was a platformer, while F2B was 3rd person ish.
well, its not in there anywhere. I think I will just give up on it for now. Maybe I can dig it up somewhere in my attic or get my dad to remember. All I really remember is that it was on a floppy diskette.
