Ok might get some flak for this...

But im interested in your worst game ever and your personal feelings and why it makes your worst number one ever...

Even a top worst games ever...

dont include sims or sims 2 as clearly although over subscribed with expansion packs is clearly a run away success with teenagers on a pentium 4 etc and sold more than any other game - so how can that be bad...

Awww thats way to hard to answer! Wont stop me trying.

Most bad games i usually turn off after a few minutes, and in order to have a decent opinion i'd say you would need to play a good portion of the game to judge it correctly.
Most recent one i quit on pretty quickly was Black and White 2. The tutorials were patronising, the presentation sucked and didnt pull me in at all.
The last straw was that bit where you have to throw the rock at that blockage in the waterfall....i tried for about 10 minutes just to do that and failed every time. CD ended up flying towards the wall

Anything SIMS related i despise as well, simply because of the giggling idiots in my office who think them "playing"

Nothing wrong with social gaming- just look at CS:S, TF2, and L4D. I think it may be casual gamers you hold such disdane for.

For me... hmmm... There was some GT game i downloaded the demo for on steam, that was pretty horrific...

'Mansion of the hidden souls' on the Sega Saturn, what a steaming pile of dog doo that was. It was an FMV horror fest that was about as scary as a can of coke, I completed it in under an hour.

I use the term 'completed' loosely as it had no real gameplay to speak of, I took it back to the shop and asked for a refund because it was s#!t .. and I got it.

Captain Blood on the ZX spectrum is my nomination, no appreciable intro, tutorial, story or explanation, a totally bizzarre game that I never "got" or understood, it had a truelly nausiating baby blue interface that made no sense whatsoever, about all I managed to do with the game was to get to screen which appeared to be some sort of eye poking mini game... although it appeared to make no difference which eyes you poked or in what order...

+1 Captain Blood ... what a 'game', who ever designed that must have been tripping or something at the time .. a true 'king kong's finger' of a game.

God I nearly brought that on Saturday, it was either that or Toms Clancy’s Ghost Recon.

Worst game ever? Sega Worldwide Soccer on the Sega Saturn, that was pretty dire. S

o far I haven’t been able to get into Mass Effect for the PC. The frame rate is rather dire and I’m not exactly running it at the highest settings either (C2D @ 3Ghz, 8800GT, 2Gb DDR2800), the fight sequences come off as awkward, I collect stuff but I don’t know what I need it for or what it does, team commands don’t work that well especially in combat, I have 4 guns all of which feel and work and sound the same. I don’t want to call this a bad game as I know it has a lot fans but so far I just haven’t been able to warm to it.

I'm sure I've played lots of crappy games on my Amgia 1200 and Atari 520 STE but I can only remember the good ones, like Wolf, Starglider 1 & 2, Midwinter 2: Flames of Freedom, Wing Commander and Elite! :D

And as we're visiting the time machine:
Rise of the Robots on the Amiga. Appallingly bad.

The C64 had its fair share, although I tend to remember the good games rather than the bad ones.

Fine Artist for the Sega Genesis was by far the lamest game I ever played, if you even want to call it a game. The older brother of a friend of mine suckered me into trading him Caesar's Palace casino game for it. Not that Caesar's Palace was all that great but compared to Fine Artist it was HL2.

For those of you who never had the pleasure of playing Fine Artist, well it's basically MS Paint but with a Sega console game pad. What really sucked is that I was like 10 when I had it and game were in short supply around my house so I actually put quite a few hours into playing it just because I was tired of Sonic 2.

As for something that can be more accurately categorized as a game I'd have to say Shaq Fu. This game is legendarily bad, just google it. I actually kept the cartridge for this POS even after I got rid of all my other Sega Genesis games simply as a reminder for just how bad a game can be.

I. Glitch fest/Frustrating

1) Battle Field2
* Between the glitches and compromised servers this game was a love hate relationship. Eventually the hate overpowered the love and I had to throw it away. (the first game that I have thrown away)

2) Far Cry
* Game was always difficult and glitchy; after a recent replay it seems worse than before. The 1.4 patch seems to have made the game more glitchy and difficult to play. Some of the glitches are so obvious that you scratch your head in bewilderment at the fact that the game had passed through some sort of QA/QC process.

3) MoH Under Ground
* Inconsistency and superhuman ai make the game un bearable on later levels and special missions. I broke a ps controller over this one. Shooting an npc in the head or chest 13 times would kill them one second and a full clip would leave smiling the next. Nice getting shot with a smg beyond the viewing point and through the map too.

II. Letdown

1) Lost Planet
*Glitchy, ran like crap on capable hardware and the UI was ported straight from the xbox, game felt completely unenjoyable and unplayable.

2) Hitman Contracts
* Never played the hitman series before; thought an overview game would be nice. While the game wasn't completely terrible it was too damn glitchy and un refined.
The story elements were boring and the overall gameplay wasn't that satisfying

3) Madden '07 PC version
* The last madden game I had played before this was '01 for the PS2 and I expected a lot more from '07 The controls were terrible on the PC, I never felt comfortable controlling the game. The run game was a damn joke. The ai was super human at times. Visually I felt the game was unimpressive. I would have enjoyed it more if it I had played on the PS2/PS3; but I expected a lot more after 6 years.

III. Out of the box bad

1) Bubsy 3d (what a piece of sh**)
* Just an embarrassment to video games everywhere.

CMon people, this is the "Worst game of all time" thread, not the "I didn't like BF2" or "this game was hard" thread.

FYI, the hardest game of all time was Battletoads (don't even say otherwise, I played it on an emulator at 50% speed and kept dieing...). Zero Wing, The Incredibal Crash Test Dummies, and Rocky and Bulewinkle are my top three, hands down.
