I just bought a new VGA box for the purpose of connecting my old video game console to a spare computer monitor but have been unable to get it to work. Whenever I connect it, I just get a display reading "H/V frequency over range". What does this mean? Is there anything I can do about it?

whats a vga box, and h/v frequency over range probably means that the frequency of horizontal scanning and refresh is too high.
