Why doesnt microsoft include an option for vista for older games where you can right click them and run under dos compability under properties like they have for 32 bit only os supported games on 64 bit vista?

because they want to force people to constantly upgrade, by making people (especially in business and commerce) jump from old-old systems to brand new ones when their equipment begins to fail.

By doing this there is a constant cycle of hardware upgrades in their biggest source of income.

so why dont they force this with vista64 users and not allow them to play games that only run on 32 bit? I mean there are a lot of benefits I hear of 64 bits so the hardcore would still upgrade imo.

Time and effort. You would need to take people off of the main OS to make a 16-bit Virtual Machine that would run every time a 16-bit app was launched. (Thats what they do with 32-bit programs, and for the most part, it works).

16-bit Windows programs can not be run under any version of Vista. You would need to install a Virtual Machine to run an OS (98 SE; i knew i kept those disks for a reason :D) to run those programs.

Dos games can be run via DosBox almost perfectly, so there isn't much of a push to support them any longer.

Virtual PC 2007 is free to Vista Ultimate users and you can install DOS on a virtual machine and run it through there.
