Or for the natives....Soccer Delegatory Solutions Provider 2k9 :D

Was just wondering if any Brits (cant see this being popular in USA) picked this up and had some good tips for an easy starting team / transfers / tactics.
I had a quick play last night with Man City...74m kitty! :bounce:

Already know about Vela, got him from Arsenal for 12m, and picked up Marcelo, Riquelme and Velundo for about 45m.
2 games into the Prem, ive won every game except a friendly Vs Schalke and still i have players who struggle to find motivation for playing for me and lack confidence in me. Also i cant figure how to get Riquelme firing, its an attacking 4-4-2 with a DM / AM in the centre.
Im trying to allow Riquelme a free role but even with 20's in creativity, passing, dribbling and all the good ones he is scoring low 6's. Not great for a 18m player.

Hey, I got FM 2009 the day it came out. Played it for about 2 weeks solid.

I always go a modest scottish team to start and try and do well with them by gettin them into europe by the end of the first couple of seasons. Did this with Hibs and got knocked out on Goal Difference in the group stage. Gutted.

I always play 4-1-2-2-1. With DM and two Wingers. I always set the wingers on Free Role and they bag plenty of goals. I always used to put one of my tall DC on challenge GK for corners, coupled with corners going into the 6yd box, he was almost top goalscorer of my team, after that decided to change it to my tall striker.

is a class website for tips on tactics and everything. Also has the best players in the game etc, I don't really look at those types of things because I like to find young talent myself and develop them.

Man City have a crazy budget in this game. Every time I play they are always so busy in the transfer market.

...Pocket change for Man City haha. I always try and play them off the bench a few games to start and slowly introduce them into a regular first team spot.

Try my tactic, 4 defenders, 1 DM, two MCs, 2 AMR/L (wingers) and a striker. It's a variation of the one on that website so you should have a look. Fits well if you have some good wingers.

you can pretty much afford any1 you want, I would go in for players like Pirlo and Wesley Snjeider.

At the mo its down to levels of interest.
I went for Yaya Toure and got blown out...the bid went in but he wanted something silly like 120k p/w! In the old games that used to unsettle your other Key Players (Robinho is on 90k p/w i think) and start them whining for parity so there are some limits to Man City's transfer activity.
Velo was a bit silly as well, his wages went from 3.5k p/w to 60k p/w....as a 19yr old!

Riquelme might have been a mistake anyway, Elano turns out to be a class act apparantly. Oh well, 18m bench warmers ftw :(

Thx for the link!

Yeah I can imagine it being a bit of a nightmare getting the players interested. With my Hibs team, there was a board takeover in the first few months of taking the job. The new chairman pumped about 30mil into the club making it the richest in scotland!
My old transfer budget was about 750k, and all of a sudden it was around 20million. Problem was attracting players in the first place.

**** me! what a greedy bastard. textbook hot prospect though.

Not sure if you sort training schedules and coaches out and all that crap, if you don't check out the stuff from that website about training schedules etc. I have seen incredible improvements from players by making schedules specifically for each position.
