Disk error while writing to the file

i am trying to reinstall Age of Empires 2 but i can't install it all the way it will get to 86-92% complete and say: Age of Empires 2 Setup encountered a disk error while writing to the file Make sure your hard disk is not full, and that the file is not in use, i'm using a vista can anyone help me out plz

Its either corruped downloaded files, or a scratched DVD...is it second hand?
