I recently bought one of those cheap $300 computers from ebay, and so far I have been relatively happy with it, but from the reading i have done into it, the motherboard that comes with it hinders the HD speed greatly (and straight out sucks). So right now i want to change the mobo, and i have no idea which one i want. Also, this upgrade will come along with DDR which will be a jump from my PC133. Anyway, if anyone can recommend a cheap, solid mobo, I would appreciate it.. I want to have the option for future upgrades, maybe a 2600 or so when they become cheap, perhaps when the hammer is out.

Hmm $109 is a more than im looking to spend on this. Is the plain EP-8RDA good? Thats more towards the price i want, as low as possible for a decent performing board. I dont need anything special.

The plain 8rda is still good. Peformance it is the same the only difference is it doesnt include a few extras. I think firewire and SATA and it doesnt use the nvidia soundstorm it just uses an ordinary ac97 sound chip for onboard sound. There may be a few others but I cant remember. Checkout www.8rdafaq.com for exact info. But basicaly the ordinary 8rda is still a very good board.
