Somehow my taskbar ended up on the right side of my screen. How do put it back on the bottom?

Left click and hold on an empty area of the task bar and drag to the bottom. It took me a while to figure that out the first time I did that.

OK, I don't know what I did in the first place to make the task bar appear vertically on the right edge of the screen, but it keeps going back to there, even though I re-placed it to appear horizonally at the bottom. Do you know what causes it to appear on the right edge instead of the bottom, and a possible a cure?
