Well i just built a gaming computer with room to upgrade and im looking at buying an ATI HD 6850. But, i need as much money as i can get. So maybe $40. But i might try to sell it on ebay or craigslist and see what i can get. If i cant get any more than i will sell it to you.

Oh, sorry--I didn't mean to be offering to buy. I was answering, "I...was wondering how much I could get for my gpu?" I estimated $30. Ebay might be good to you. But since it can't be used for PhysX (8000 series and newer only), it's not worth a whole lot. $30 might be a stretch though--it is a 5 year old card with performance matched by new $40 GT240's.

6850 is a solid 40 dollars cheaper than a 5850, and I wouldn't categorize the performance difference as "destroying". The OP is clearly on a tight budget so I would definitely recommend the 6850. It runs almost every high end game at playable frames with reasonable settings and slightly older games at max settings.

The cheapest $6850 on Newegg right now is $160. Cheapest 5850 is $176. And usually there's a 5850 for $165--there was a couple days ago when I suggested it at least. I'm counting rebates. Without rebates, I think the cheapest 5850 was $10 more instead of $5.

The cheapest 5850 at the moment without buying new, is $195. And also, the 6850 is a newer card, meaning most likely it has improved drivers, it has better tessellation and it can be over clocked to a higher core clock than the 5850. http://tpucdn.com/reviews/HIS/Radeon_HD_6850/images/perfrel.gif and 6%? i wouldnt call that destroying exactly, more or less like "1 upping" If i were looking for something to destroy the 6850 i would go with the 5970 or the 5870 x2 Asus Ares. But im not. It is affordable and the best for the price.

Yeah, the 5850 isn't nearly as good of a deal today as it was two weeks ago. Get the 6850 in that case. I definitely go the impression the performance gap was more than 6% in the reviews I read--but the specific chart you linked says otherwise. Although I'd wait for a 5870 for $179 or $205, since both occurred last week.
